As part of national level United Way campaigns, United Way of Whitewater Valley has received $5K from BMO Bank to benefit families in Wayne and Union Counties. Last December, the United Way of Whitewater Valley Board voted to distribute these funds in partnership with the Wayne Township Trustee’s office. Used in complement to other public assistance programs, including food and utility assistance, funds will be used to meet the basic needs of struggling families that do not qualify for programs limited to households whose income falls below a threshold tied to the Federal Poverty Level.
Families in both Wayne and Union Counties may qualify for support from this funding pool. To learn more or find out if you qualify for assistance, contact Susan Issacs at the Wayne Township Trustee‘s office:

The Board’s decision to invest funds in this way was driven by United Way’s focus on ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed) households, families that struggle to meet essential needs like food, housing, childcare, healthcare, and transportation, despite working hard. Meeting these essential needs is central to helping every family achieve financial security and thrive. Are you ALICE? Find out at unitedforalice.org.
