#WheresWayne Art Contest – Celebrating the Bison-tennial
In honor of Indiana’s Bicentennial, we welcome Wayne the Bison to our community! Wayne needs our help to feel more at home, however. He wants to cover himself with the history and knowledge of what makes his new home special. He is asking his new community friends to help design his body coat through a community wide art project. It is easy to get involved! All you need to do is click the link below (when you hover over the link, it will turn blue), print the template and rules, follow the guidelines, and enter your submission as instructed by May 13th at 5:00 p.m.
United Way of Whitewater Valley will select (8) finalists to move forward to the formal community voting process. Finalists will be announced on Friday, May 20th, 2016.
After Wayne is decorated, he will tour the area visiting events, participating in parades and homecomings, as well as have the opportunity to be ‘hosted’ by local businesses and organizations.
This officially endorsed legacy project, the “Bison-tennial Public Art Project” aims to celebrate Indiana’s rich history in the state’s 200th year. Bison public art pieces will be highlighted along the Bicentennial Torch Relay route, from Sept. 9 through Oct.15, 2016, culminating in Indiana’s Statehood Day on Dec. 11, 2016.
Don’t delay! Design Wayne today!
